RYAN REYNOLDS’ SURPRISE DATE AT THE TORONTO FILM FESTIVAL

Ryan Reynolds brought along the most important woman in his life to Tuesday night’s (September 14) premiere of Buried — and it wasn’t wife Scarlett Johansson.

Joined by his mother Tammy Reynolds, the 33-year-old actor was at Ryerson Theatre in Toronto as he debuted his upcoming mystery thriller during the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival.

Meanwhile, after spending years in front of the camera, Ryan will soon return to the place that made him a star — as a producer.

NBC has picked up the rights to Mayors of Casterbridge which is described as ‘Old School meets Gran Torino‘. If the pilot gets a full pickup, Ryan may have a small, returning guest spot on the show.

The show is decribed as “four elder statesmen of a classic American Neighborhood who have their community threatened by a young upstart determined on making Casterbridge just another homogenized tract home complex. These four men band together to restore their neighborhood to its glory days, while helping each other take on the new challenges in their life.”

The series is produced by Ryan’s Dark Trick Films.

Fans of Ryan might remember that he first got his start on Two Guys, A Girl, and A Pizza Place.
