LATINO HOLLYWOOD STEPS OUT FOR THE PADRES EL CONTRA CANCER’S 25TH ANNIVERSARY

Eva Longoria hosted the Padres El Contra Cancer’s 25th Anniversary Gala at The Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on Thursday night (September 23).

The 35-year-old actress was joined by her Desperate Housewives co-star Felicty Huffman as as she celebrated the foundation’s quarter century of serving the needs of children with cancer and blood diseases across southern California.

Today, Padres has served more than 7500 families and over 35 000 extended family members from all ethnic backgrounds servicing children and young adults with both cancer and blood diseases.

A slew of Hispanic actors from Hollywood stepped out to lend some support, including the likes of Andy Garcia, Demi Lovato, Eduardo Verastegui, Eva LaRue, George Lopez, Mario Lopez and Carlos Ponce.

Eva is no stranger to philanthropy. She was named ‘Philanthropist of the Year’ by Hollywood Reporter in 2009 for giving back to the community.

Padres El Contra Cancer is just one of the many charities she has become involved with in the past few years. Eva also supports the Clothes Off Our Back Foundation, the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, the National Stroke Association, Project HOME and St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

She even started her own charity in 2006 called Eva’s Heroes, which helps developmentally disabled children.

  1. Dave the Rave Says:

I am so sick of Eva Longoria. She has gone crazy with all things Mexican. Screw black and white kids with cancer. Just save the Latino ones. This is subtly racist and I don’t like it one bit.

  2. Smart, wealthy, powerful Latinos… every teabagger’s worst nightmare!
