BEN AFFLECK HEADS TO WASHINGTON IN AID OF TROUBLED CONGO

When Ben Affleck isn’t busy making critically-praised movies, he’s helping make this world be a better place.

And that’s exactly what the Oscar-winning actor/director did as he attended the discussion of U.S. Policy in the Democratic Republic Of Congo at The CSIS B1 Conference Center in Washington, DC on Tuesday (November 30).

Ben was joined by Massachusetts native Sen. John Kerry as he spoke about strengthening U.S. foreign policy in the Eastern Congo, along with a panel of experts.

Ben began by addressing the obvious: The only thing anyone famous can legitimately bring to the topic is awareness. “So I started off with the relatively modest goal of just trying to get people to listen to me talking about this issue,” he told the audience.

He later added: “I’m here today because I believe in the Congolese people, and I believe in the power of the American people to affect change when we put our minds to it.”
