Oprah‘s audience of 300 made their way to Australia today (December 7) to begin their eight-day journey Down Under. Their packed schedule includes surfing lessons, snorkeling, nature hikes and beachside barbecues.

Oprah will film two episodes at the Opera House (which the Australian media has renamed the “Oprah” House) and a third episode at a yet-to-be disclosed location, to air in January.

Meanwhile, the media mogul offers up an interview to her O magazine about her upcoming OWN network, debuting at noon on January 1 with a theme song by will.i.am.

On her fears about launching a network and the reality of being responsible for her viewers: “I have never felt such fear in all my life. … I was afraid it wouldn’t be what The Oprah Winfrey Show has been, and has meant, for all these years. ”

Shows to look out for? Oprah Presents Master Class, an in-depth biography series with insight from some of Oprah’s most inspirational role models, including Maya Angelou and Sidney Poitier. And The Gayle King Show, a televised incarnation of King’s very successful radio show premieres on January 3.
