Looking more glamorous than ever, America Ferrera attended the 24th Annual Hispanic Heritage awards at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC this evening (September 29).
Working the red carpet in a gorgeous scoop neck dress, the Ugly Betty star was on hand to pick up the “Inspira” or inspiration award for her positive image of Latina women.
Other honorees included international recording artist from Spain Alejandro Sanz and Dominican recording artist Juan Luis Guerra.
Jose Antonio Tijerino, the non-profit foundation’s president and chief executive officer said, “We are thrilled to honor yet another class of inspiring Latino leaders.”
Next up for America? She’s set to host the ninth season of the PBS series Independent Lens‘ documentary films.
America, who recently announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend Ryan Piers Williams, will make her debut when the award-winning anthology series begins its new season on October 19.
The 26-year-old actress follows past Independent Lens presenters including Susan Sarandon, Terrence Howard and Edie Falco.
