Now that Amy Poehler is a mother of two, Thanksgiving has taken on a whole new meaning.

The super funny comedian and star of Parks and Recreation had her game face on as she stocked up for Thanksgiving with her baby son Abel James Arnett at Bristol Farms in Los Angeles on Wednesday (November 24).

Though she gave birth to her second son only three months ago, Amy has seemingly bounced back to her pre-pregnancy figure, wearing blue jeans with a striped shirt and a red cardigan and a pair of beat-up trainers.

The 39-year-old kept her make-up minimal, with just a hint of pink lipstick and her light blonde hair was pulled back and fixed in a messy pin-up.

Abel’s father is 40-year-old Arrested Development star, Will Arnett. He and Amy married in 2003 after dating for a couple of years and working on many projects together.

They clearly love working together and compliment each other’s comedic style and timing perfectly.

“They’re the funniest married couple I know,” says Ben Stiller, who directed them in Blades of Glory, says of the two actors. “They have such a similar sense of humour. They finish each other’s sentences.”

Tina Fey was the girl of the hour this evening (November 9) as friends and colleagues gathered at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC to fete the 30 Rock star.

Tina was the recipient of the 13th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, following in the footsteps of great comedians including Richard Pryor, Carl Reiner, Whoopi Goldberg, Bob Newhart, Lily Tomlin, Lorne Michaels and last year’s honoree, Bill Cosby.

The 40-year-old star is the award’s youngest recipient to date. She looked radiant in a black dress by Oscar de la Renta as she worked the red carpet ahead of the celeb-packed soiree.

A star-studded lineup of entertainers including Steve Carell, Jimmy Fallon, Jon Hamm, Jennifer Hudson, Jane Krakowski, Seth Meyers, Tracy Morgan, Amy Poehler and Betty White were all on hand to pay tribute to Tina, an alum of NBC’s Saturday Night Live.

During the show, Seth, who worked alongside Tina during SNL‘s ‘Weekend Update’, noted that it was a huge deal “to have a contemporary win the Mark Twain award.” He said Tina’s impact is “just what you learn from her. You can’t learn talent but you can learn work ethic.”

Good pal Amy was thrilled for her friend. “I’m genuinely thrilled and not at all surprised,” she said, after noting that Tina’s impression of Sarah Palin was her favourite. “That one’s a keeper!”

As for Tina? She kept it humble when she took to the stage. “All of the other people who have received this prize are heroes of mine,” she said. “I keep thinking (I have) to tell them they’ve made a terrible mistake.”
