Drew Barrymore tells the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar, “I feel like some of my baby fat is going away, and that’s not just physically, it’s psychologically. I think that your body is in tune with your mind and your spirituality and your heart. If things are going better, I just think you look better.”

The 35-year-old actress’ relationship with Justin Long is just one of the many things that keeps getting better: “He’s the cat’s pajamas. I couldn’t love, respect, admire, and enjoy that individual more than I do. It would be physically impossible for me to have any more giggly joy at this person.”

As for what Drew likes to do when she’s not working? “I actually really love to lie in bed, watch TV, be a total sloth, and eat my favorite food: Kraft macaroni and cheese. Last night I was watching The Next Food Network Star, eating mac and cheese, and feeling grand. And that was after I wore a sequined Givenchy gown with giant holes cut out of it.”

Drew Barrymore looked to have opted for a casual attire as she left her office in West Hollywood on Friday (September 3) but what was noticeably odd is the layered coloring of her hair.

Is the Going the Distance actress opting for a natural approach to growing out her lightened hair or is this a case of confused hilighting?

Meanwhile, Drew says she is taking her time over finding a film to direct because she wants a project she can “fall in love” with.

The 35-year-old actress, who made her directorial debut in 2009 with Whip It!, also admitted that she spent her entire acting career preparing to become a director.

“As a director, I’m really trying hard to find something I fall in love with again because it’s a really long, intense job that you work on every day for the next three years,” she tells Stylist. “I have just always wanted to direct. My whole life has been sort of trying to hunt and gather information on how I could be the best director I could be, and I just want to grow and evolve in that form of the job. And I just love films.”

She adds: “As a director, I was always on time, I had shot-listed, story-boarded, I knew exactly what I wanted and had an answer for every question. When it comes to directing I’m as fastidious as it gets. I’m homework orientated, I’m diligent, I’m disciplined and I’m inexhaustible. But my real life is a disaster. You should see my hotel room right now. It looks like Sid Vicious is living there. It’s absolutely nuts. I need to call somebody to help because it’s started to look weird. I’m just a mess. My desk is a mess. I’m never organized. I lose everything.”

Drew Barrymore made a guest appearance on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart in New York City (August 25).

After arriving in a casual jeans and tee ensemble, the 35-year-old actress departed the studio in a sexy purple leather mini skirt after promoting her new romantic comedy, Going the Distance.

Meanwhile, Drew is apparently mourning the death of her beloved dog Flossie — the chow-yellow Labrador mix whose barking saved her life when a fire engulfed her home in 1998.

Flossie passed away last month, and Drew honored her beloved pet by spreading her ashes across the Ganges river during a recent trip to India — considered to be one of the most sacred spots in the world.

And now she’s working on training a new pup, whose picture she showed off on the Late Show with David Letterman last night, before revealing Flossie’s death.

“That is my new dog, Douglas. … I rescued him,” she said. “He was brought to the pound when he was two weeks old, he’s six months. I had three other dogs, one of which, Flossie, was an infamous little soul — I had her until she was almost 16. She passed away about a month ago. She had such a good life and what more could you ask for than 16 years with your soul mate sidekick? I actually brought some of her ashes to India and put them in the Ganges, which is a very sacred thing to do.”

Drew Barrymore glittered in gold as she attended the premiere of Going The Distance in Los Angeles today (August 23).

The 35-year-old actress was joined by her on-screen, off-screen boyfriend Justin Long as she made her way down the red carpet at the debut of her latest romantic comedy.

Also at the premiere? Drew’s co-star Christina Applegate. The mom-to-be was escorted to the event by her longtime beau, musician Martyn Lenoble.

Meanwhile, Drew says she thinks people should only use Twitter if they are funny and insists she will never join.

The big screen beauty has no interest in the micro-blogging site and admits she is an “old fashioned girl” when it comes to technology.

“I know I’m an anomaly, I know everyone else is in love with it, but it’s not for me,” she says. “I like people who use it for comedy to make people laugh. If people are making other people laugh and making jokes then that’s awesome.”

When pressed to try out the site by Absolute Radio DJ Geoff Lloyd, she refused, saying: “I’m an old fashioned girl.”

For his part, Justin believes his lady love will stick to her self-imposed twitter ban.

“She won’t join,” he says, “I promise you she won’t.”

In a joint interview, he added to Drew: “Like as disparate as it is from your nature, I still feel like you would tweet some really funny things, you’d have some good entertainment.”

Drew Barrymore was in good spirits as she attended the World premiere of Going The Distance at the Vue, Leicester Square in London today (August 19).

Dressed in a sexy mini dress and nude platform pumps, the 35-year-old actress added some pizzazz to her ensemble by painting her lips a bold red.

Next up for Drew? She’s set to save three imperiled California gray whales trapped under the Arctic Circle offshore ice near Barrow, Alaska is an upcoming movie.

Inspired by true events that happened in 1988, the Soviet and United States governments as well as eco-activists, oil company executives, the military, Eskimos and the media famously joined forces to rescue the giant mammals using a Soviet icebreaker. The event actually triggered a ‘Cold War thaw’ between Mikhail Gorbachev and Ronald Regan.

Drew, a longtime vegetarian, says that she intends to pour herself into the role, adding that “it’s a really really amazing story and I’m really excited about” doing it.

Drew Barrymore is ageless.

So it was no surprise to see the 35-year-old actress hit up the studio of Young Hollywood in Los Angeles on Friday (August 13) for an afternoon photo session.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. has pushed back the opening of its Drew and boyfriend Justin Long‘s latest romantic comedy Going the Distance, from August 27 to September 3.

Takers, The Last Exorcism as well as the re-release of Avatar will open on August 27.

According to Variety, Warners is hoping that the new release date for Going the Distance will provide audiences with more Labor Day Weekend options as it goes up against George Clooney‘s espionage thriller The American, opening September 1, and Robert Rodriguez’s action film Machete, which will open September 3.

Going the Distance, focuses on a couple, played by Drew and Justin, as they deal with the ups and downs of a long-distance relationship.

With an upcoming movie to promote, Drew Barrymore is back on the event trail.

Showing off a head full off extensions, the 35-year-old actress was among the attendees at the Nylon + Express August Denim Issue Party at The London Hotel in West Hollywood on Tuesday night (August 10).

Meanwhile, Dres admits her teenage years in the public eye caused her “tremendous pain.”

The Charlie’s Angels babe – who first took cocaine at the age of 12 – admits the attention of being in tabloid newspapers while she was a teenager was difficult to deal with.

“My hedonistic moment wasn’t that tumultuous,” she tells the Daily Telegraph. “It just happened at such a young age so it seemed way crazier than it was. Everyone goes to a point where they do stuff excessively. And the majority of people bounce back. Some of them fall into the rabbit hole — I just got mine out of the way early. There were moments when I experienced tremendous pain with everything being so known. You’re like, ‘Can I f*cking f*ck up or have an embarrassing moment or do anything in f*cking private?'”

However, she admits she eventually realised all teenagers experience similar problems, just on a smaller scale.

She says: “If you’re a 16-year-old and in high school and it doesn’t work out with the guy, and everyone’s talking about it in the hallways, it’s the same feeling. It’s all relative.”
