Never one to be afraid to make a statement, Fergie made a bold fashion choice for the 2010 American Music Awards in Los Angeles today (November 21).

Joined by her fellow Black Eyed Peas bandmates, the sexy singer rocked a navy blue mini dress with furry little shoulder epaulets before heading inside the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live to pick up one of the night’s first awards — Favourite Pop/Rock Band/Duo/Group.

Meanwhile, rumour has it the Peas have been selected as the halftime act for Super Bowl XLV on Feburary 6. If true, the selection is a departure from the more conservative performers the NFL chose over the last six years.

Following Janet Jackson‘s wardrobe malfunction at the 2004 Super Bowl, the halftime acts have been Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Prince, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Bruce Springsteen and the Who.

No word from the NFL yet.

The video was filmed in August at Hollywood’s famous Jumbo’s Clown Room burlesque bar and at a nearby hotel. Slash says that “the concept is twisted,” and that it was “Fergie’s idea.”

“The track began as a piece of music I’d written as a score for a strip bar scene and it made me think of [Fergie],” he says. “I’m a guy and there’s nothing sexier than seeing a cute girl sing rock ‘n’ roll.”
