Gwyneth Paltrow added a touch of Hollywood glamour as she attended the 44th Annual CMA Awards at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee this evening (November 10).

The Oscar-winning actress had heads turning as she made a late arrival to the show in a stunning off-the-shoulder number featuring a strategically placed cut-out which displayed her fit figure.

Gwyneth will be making her country music debut live in front of millions as she takes the stage as part of the promotion for her movie Country Strong. Country music superstar Vince Gill will join her on stage.

“There’s definitely skepticism around town,” one high-level label exec tells the Hollywood Reporter. “The feeling is that she’s taking a slot that would otherwise go to one of our acts – be it a new artist or someone who’s actually nominated – just so ABC can garner some ratings.”

But not everyone in Nashville is cynical about Gwynnie’s stage performance. Guitarist and singer-songwriter Neal Casal, who plays a member of her movie band, says, “She has a really good voice. I think people will be really surprised.”

Gwyneth Paltrow brought on the glamour as she attended the premiere of Country Strong at Regal Green Hills in Nashville, Tennessee today (November 8).

The Oscar-winning actress was joined by co-stars Leighton Meester and Tim McGraw as she debuted her highly-anticipated drama about a rising country-music songwriter who sparks with a fallen star (Gwyneth). Together, they mount his ascent and her comeback, which leads to romantic complications involving her husband/manager (Tim) and a beauty queen-turned-singer (Leighton).

Tim says of Gwyneth in their new film: “The biggest challenge was to be on the screen with Gwyneth. You just want to play to the level [of] the person you’re playing against. It certainly made me a better actor, being there with her. Everybody around her rises when she’s in a scene.”

Everyone knows that Gwynnie is a good actress, and when she starred in a previous film, Duets, the world saw another side of her talent — her singing ability. Tim says of Gwyneth’s voice: “She’s a great country singer, because when it came out, it was pure honesty. You know, the thing about country music, it’s such an honest [type of] music.”

Country Strong is generating a lot of buzz, which is expected to grow Wednesday night when Paltrow performs at the Country Music Association awards show in Nashville.
