Jenny McCarthy opened up to Oprah today (September 28) about her break-up with Jim Carrey.
After dating for four years, they announced their split in April, Jenny says it happened “weeks” before that.
“When celebrities break up, usually when people find out about it, it happened way earlier,” she said. “No matter what, your heart still needs to mend. … So I feel like we really had some time to … heal a little bit.”
Oprah then took the time to dispell endless rumours about her relationship with Stedman Graham. “We’ve never broken up once. They’re always lies,” she said, adding, “I do regret ever mentioning him” in the press.
As for when Jenny knew it was over? How does anyone know when it’s over? “When it’s not fun any more,” said Jenny.
After comparing her relationship to an hour glass, she offered something Jenny offered something she learned from the relationship. “I realized that I was under this belief system that you have to have a lover in order to have love in your life,” she said. “I came out of it realizing I’m am the love of my life.”
As for whether there’s any chance of a reconciliation “No,” said Jenny. She has moved on. “There is a guy I like (former fitness model Jason Toohey) and I would call it exclusive.”
