Kanye West told an audience at a screening of his film/extended music video, Runaway, last night (October 18) in Los Angeles that he has thought about killing himself.

The 33-year-old attention-seeking rapper mentioned to the crowd “there were times that I contemplated suicide,” but he didn’t mention if that was before or after the Taylor Swift interruption incident. However, he said, “I will not give up on life again.”

Kanye directed the 35-minute Runaway, which features portions of nine new songs, bold visuals and off-kilter camera angles. The mostly dialogue-free piece, set to premiere this weekend on MTV, VH1 and BET, will accompany Kanye’s upcoming album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, out November 22.

The AP describes the film, saying:

After a prelude featuring narration from rapper Nicki Minaj, West’s character, Griffin, is seen driving a black MTX Tatra supercar down a country road. Lying next to a hole in the pavement is a phoenix fallen to Earth, played by model Selita Ebanks in pink, gray and brown feathers.

He takes her home and offers this advice: “First rule in this world, baby: Don’t pay attention to anything you see on the news.”

Kanye West “accidentally” ran into Kim Kardashian and her E! Channel film crew in New York City on Monday (October 4) where they were filming for Kim’s new reality show.

Clad in a chic Burberry coat, the controversial rapper could be seen talking fashion with the former sex tape starlet before emerging from the store amid a growing group of fans and paparazzi.

Meanwhile, Kanye has confirm the rumored November 22 release date for his as-yet-untitled upcoming album. “L.A. Reid who’s doing a great job at Def Jam,” he tweets. “We gone Kill it again on November 22nd!!!!!!!!!! Even with the leaks fam.”

Kanye condemned hackers for leaking both his Lost In The World and All Of The Lights tracks last week, and found himself forced to cancel his G.O.O.D. Music Fridays — the Fridays leading up to his album release, on which he promised to release new music on a weekly basis.

He quickly retracted his statement by releasing So Appalled, featuring Jay-Z.

Kanye West was seen making his way to the Phillip Lim Fashion Show in New York City on Wednesday (September 15).

Stepping out solo, the controversial rapper looked fresh in a hot pink sportcoat as he checked out the Thai-born designer’s latest runway creations.

Meanwhile, Kanye is revealing details on his upcoming movie Runaway –a 40-minute film that he’s currently editing.

“I haven’t tweeted much in the past couple days because I’ve got so much work to work on,” he says. “I’m colour-correcting this film I shot in Prague a couple weeks ago.”

The film-noir style flick was based on his new album and also inspired by his struggles in the media over the past year, following the much-publicized Taylor Swift incident at the 2009 MTV VMAs

“It’s been in my heart for a while. It’s maybe parallel to my career,” he says. “I threw a Molotov cocktail on my career last year, in a way, and I had to come back as a better person.”

As for what the movie is about? “It’s the story of a phoenix fallen to Earth, and I make her my girlfriend, and people discriminate against her and eventually she has to burn herself alive and go back to her world. I’ve been feeling the idea of the phoenix.”

While Taylor Swift continues to live in the past, Kanye West was looking forward when he took the stage at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night (September 12).

While he didn’t address the trophy-gate incident directly onstage, Kanye rapped and sang a song that mocked the boorish behaviour that has upstaged his music: “I always find something wrong; you’ve been putting up with my sh*t for too long,” he said, before launching into the a chorus honoring “douchebags”, “jerk*ffs”, “a**holes” and “scumbags.”

The performance garnered the night’s only standing ovation.

Just days before the show, Kanye tweeted his apologies to Taylor and even said he wrote her a song. “I wrote a song for Taylor Swift that’s so beautiful and I want her to have it,” he wrote. “If she won’t take it then I’ll perform it for her.”

Nearly a year after he ruined Taylor Swift‘s MTV Video Music Award acceptance speech, Kanye West is ready to make ammends.

The rapper says he’s written a song for Taylor, which he’d like for her to accept. If she’s not interested, he says he’ll perform it himself.

On Saturday, he tweeted an apology and explanation of what went wrong last year.

I wrote a song for Taylor Swift that’s so beautiful and I want her to have it. If she won’t take it then I’ll perform it for her. … She had nothing to do with my issues with award shows. She had no idea what hit her. She’s just a lil girl with dreams like the rest of us. She deserves the apology more than anyone. … We’re both artist (sic) and the media and managers are trying to get between us. Everyone wants to capitalize off this (in) some way. I’m ready to get out of my own way. The ego is overdone… it’s like hoodies.
