LADY GAGA CHECKS OUT BEYONCE IN CONCERT

Posted in Lady Gaga on August 19, 2011 by fadedblog

Who knew Lady Gaga was such an avid concertgoer?

After checking out the Britney Spears concert in Atlantic City earlier this month, the Born This Way singer was among the attendees at Beyonce‘s concert at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City on Thursday night (August 18).

The outing came hours after Gaga made an appearance at MTV’s Times Square studio to let fans know that she will be opening the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre August 28.

“I have a really big announcement,” the New York native told Sway, the same night her Yoü and I video made its television debut. “But I thought as usual, instead of me announcing it, I’d let the Little Monsters do it for me.”

That when her fans unfurled a banner that read, “GAGA TO OPEN VMAs!!!,” revealing that Lady Gaga would have the distinction of kicking off the big show.

Gaga is nominated for four VMAs, including Best Female Video and Best Video With a Message for Born This Way, as well as Best Art Direction and Best Choreography for Judas.

“It means the world to me,” Gaga said of opening the 2011 VMAs. “I just feel really blessed every day. I have the most amazing fans.”

LADY GAGA GOES SURFING

Lady Gaga has been taking surfing lessons during some time off in Mexico’s Puerto Vallarta.

The 25-year-old pop star, who is reportedly taking a well-deserved break from promoting her new single You And I, hit the waves on a body-board on Tuesday (August 16), with sources claiming she is making “excellent progress.”

Speaking to The Sun, a source revealed: “For a relative beginner she took to surfing really well. She started quite slowly learning how to body-board and then she was able to work up to standing – she made excellent progress.”

They added: “She has been very relaxed since she arrived at the resort and is looking to unwind from her punishing timetable on the road.”

GaGa reportedly splashed out on a $10,000-a-night hotel suite in Mexico, with insiders saying her surfing lesson cost $240.

As well as learning to surf, the Poker Face hitmaker also unveiled the promo to her new single, You And I earlier this week – which shows Lady G dressed as a man and a topless mermaid.

Lady Gaga takes self-indulgence to the next level for new music video for You and I, which she just released, not waiting for the official unveiling on MTV on Thursday.

She tweeted: “You must love all + every part of me, as must I, for this complex + incomprehensible force to be true.”

Be sure to check out Gaga as her alter ego mermaid Yuyi and greaser mechanic Jo Calderone, along with another Gaga character who runs through a cornfield and singing Gaga who dances in a barn, in a thong no less.

LADY GAGA GETS TORTUROUS IN NEW VIDEO

Strutting your stuff in heels is no walk in the park. And now Lady Gaga is sharing a photo of her sore feet, strapped into high heels – presumably from her upcoming You and I music video, which premieres on Thursday on MTV at 7:49 p.m. ET. The battered feet come from the long walk she takes to get back to her lover.

“The idea that when you’re away from someone you love, it’s torture,” she tells MTV. “I knew I wanted the video to be about me sprinting back and walking hundreds of thousands of miles [ from New York City to Nebraska] to get him back.”

She explains, “I’m walking with no luggage and no nothing and it’s just me and my ankles are bleeding a little bit and there’s grass stuck in my shoes and I’ve got this outfit on and it’s real sort of New York clothing and I’m sprinting.”

Christmas is getting a makeover — Lady Gaga style: The singer and her team are going to reinterpret Santa’s workshop and put it on display at Barneys.

She’ll get an entire floor and take over the coveted windows starting in mid-November at the retailer’s flagship Madison Avenue store, Mark Lee, Barneys CEO, announced this morning. There will also be a collection of Gaga’s Workshop gift items that will raise money for a charity of her choice.

Campaign visuals, including a cartoon rendering of Gaga with long blue hair and a sparkly red jumpsuit, will be used to decorate shopping bags and other packaging, and will be featured on the company’s website.

Barneys’ typically nontraditional windows are a popular stop for holiday shoppers.

LADY GAGA: WOMAN OF THE YEAR

Posted in Lady Gaga on December 17, 2010 by fadedblog

Lady GaGa was spotted leaving her hotel today (December 17) in London. The eccentric singer is in the British capital plying two shows at the O2 arena.

Meanwhile, Gaga and good pal Kanye West have been voted MTV News’ Woman and Man Of The Year.

The 24-year-old singer was chosen as MTV News’ Woman Of The Year not only because of her massive chart success but also her work for social causes. This is the second year in a row Gaga has picked up the award.

MTV claim the pop star was given the award as no other artist has dominated the musical and pop-culture landscapes the way she has over the past 24 months.

Kanye was voted MTV News’ Man Of The Year and MTV claim there was no other choice for the award.

MTV picked the rapper for the award as they say his comeback was a ‘compelling story’ and while coming into 2010 as a villain for his run-in with Taylor Swift he managed to leave it as a hero after the release of his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

LADY GAGA MIGHT BE THE NEWEST OWNER OF YESTER HOUSE

Posted in Lady Gaga on November 16, 2010 by fadedblog

It’s rumoured fashionista musician Lady Gaga is close to buying Yester House, one of Scotland’s most expensive properties, a beautiful home built between 1699 and 1728, located 23 miles from Edinburgh.

The 18th-century estate was most recently listed for some $12.9 million (for 285 of 600 acres) and features 34,585 square feet of interior space, 60-plus rooms (including the main 30-foot by 45-foot reception room), 35-plus fireplaces, three kitchens, a 1,300-square-foot ballroom, and a gunroom.

The owner of Yester House, Francis Menotti, Italian-American opera composer Gian Carlo Menotti’s adopted son originally put it on the market for 15 million pounds in August 2008, the month before Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. filed for bankruptcy.

Later on, he cut the asking price to 8 million pounds ($12.7 million) after failing to attract offers at 12 million pounds.
