Matthew McConaughey enjoyed an afternoon with his girlfriend Camila Alves and their two children Vida and Levi McConaughey on Sunday (October 24) outside their hotel in Austin, Texas.

Making an array of faces, Matthew could be seen playsing with little Levi and Vida on the lawn while sipping a drink with lady love Camila.

Later that day, Camila stopped by the local Whole Foods market with her mother Fatima Alves. The former lingerie model looks like she could be caring child number three in an over sized black dress.

At that very same time, Matthew was spotted heading to a Longhorns game while he is away with his family working and enjoying his hometown.

Matthew was relaxed and comfortable showing the girth of his belly to those around him but once the shutterbugs were spotted he sucked it all in.

Could the former ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ be packing on the pounds for his latest role or has his image been an illusion the whole time?

It has been brought up in the media in the past that the Hollywood hunk has had photo enhancement done for photo shoots in the past such as the recent Dolce & Gabbana fragrance ad where he seemed to have lost the rugged beach body and gone for a more refined svelte look.

Once upon a time, he may have once been the golden boy of Hollywood — but not anymore!

Matthew McConaughey appears to be taking on a more mature look even in his acting roles as he smiled on the set of Bernie in Austin, TX on Friday (October 22).

Directed by Richard Linklater, the upcoming comedy co-stars Jack Black, Rip Torn and Shirley MacLaine, and tells the tale of the local mortician in small-town Texas who strikes up a friendship with a wealthy widow. When he ultimately kills her, he goes to great lengths to create the illusion that she’s alive.

Meanwhile, Matthew has made his music video directorial debut after taking charge of country star Jamey Johnson‘s new promo for Playing the Heart.

The Sahara star jumped behind the camera to call the shots on the set in late September, and he’s thrilled with the end product.

“Jamey and this song both have a great sense of humour, so I wanted the video to have a wink to it,” he says. “For any video, if you like the song, you should like it even more after you see the video. I wanted this video to support the lyrics, and elevate the song… I started out with a 250-pound stripper leaving work in the morning, and ended up with a man in a gorilla suit getting fired from a used tyre store.”

Music fan Matthew, who has his own record label, first tracked down Jamey after falling for his In Color ballad.

He recalls, “It was echoing from this tiny radio… We didn’t know what artist it was, so we looked it up and it was Jamey. I went immediately and bought Jamey’s album and said, ‘This album is an instant classic.'”

Matthew McConaughey‘s j.k. livin foundation was joined today (October 13) by partners from Samsung and Best Buy to encourage kids to lead active lives and make healthy choices at a Los Angeles high school.

As part of the goodwill event, new Samsung technology was installed throughout the school by Best Buy’s Geek Squad.

By partnering with Communities in Schools (CIS), the nation’s largest non-profit dropout prevention organization, the j.k livin foundation provides free fitness and wellness after-school programs that offer teens a safe place to learn and improve responsibility, self-esteem, accountability and commitment.

Meanwhile, Matthew is set to join Jack Black and Shirley MacLaine in Bernie, a dark comedy that will reunite him with his Dazed and Confused director Richard Linklater.

Bernie is set in the small town of Carthage, Texas, and follows Renaissance man/community leader/mortician Bernie (Jack), who strikes up an unlikely friendship with a wealthy but very particular widow (Shirley). When he kills her, he goes to great lengths to maintain the illusion that she is still alive. Matthew will play the town’s district attorney, always angling for re-election and suspicious about the widow’s death.

Shooting kicks off next month in Texas.
