Following her performances the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and the Grammy Concert, Katy Perry put on a glittery gold number as she performed during the VH1 Divas Salute the Troops event at the MCAS Miramar in Miramar, CA on Friday (December 3).

Joined by R&B singer Keri Hilson, country crooner Jennifer Nettles and rapstress Nicki Minaj, the California Gurls singer had the crowd on their feed as she performed an updated version of Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, a 1940 hit for the Andrews Sisters.

Later, Katy teamed a sequinned pair of blue hotpants with a stars and stripes vest top as she rocked the stage solo performing a string of her catchy hits.

It comes after the 26-year-old admitted she asked VH1 to downsize her chest in the posters advertising the show, tweeting: “I was the one who asked VH1 to tone down my digitalised image on the poster, particularly the size of my chest.”

The skin baring didn’t end there. Unfortunately. Host Kathy Griffin, who has just celebrated her 50th birthday, raised the bar as she stripped off to a camouflage bikini and belt made of bullets, which she unselfconsciously teamed with a pair of high heeled PVC boots.

And, oh yeah, Snooki and The Situation were also there. For some reason or another.

The television event, to be broadcast on Sunday (December 5), will feature female acts performing at a Marine Corps Air Station in San Diego and at an undisclosed military base in the Middle East.

While James was honored as the Leading Man of the Year, rapper Drake was acknowledged as Breakout of the Year, Jeff Bridges as Icon of the Year and Stephen Colbert as Patriot of the Year. Big screen beauty Scarlett Johansson, though a no-show, injected some estrogen in the festivities after picking up Babe of the Year honors.

The cast of the hit TV show Jersey Shore were spotted leaving the Wendy Williams show studios in Manhattan today (October 21).

After taking a group shop, Vinnie Guadagnino, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, DJ Pauly D, Mike “THe Situation” Sorrentino, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola and Ronnie Ortiz Magro all took turns vamping it up for the paparazzi before moving on to their next media event.

The gang was on hand to promote the finale of Jersey Shore‘s Miami-based second season, which airs tonight on MTV.

But worry not — Jersey Shore co-creator and exec producer SallyAnn Salsano tells The Hollywood Reporter that the hit reality TV show will debut its third season, filmed in Seaside, N.J., on January 6.

Salsano promises “plenty of drama” in the new season. “There are some new hook-ups both in the house and outside. The kids legitimately grow up and come into their own in front of your eyes. They’re still the same cast, but I think how they deal with situations is completely different.”

Angelina will not be back, but we can expect to see Snooki’s friend Ryder show up. And, Salsano says that we can expect to see a new cast member: Deena, one of Snooki’s best friends. “She’s a good time. It was hard for her to come in because there was a pre-existing relationship between everyone. There was literally no shortage of drama.”

Salsano is tough on the newly famous stars of the show. “They’re grateful, they’re happy and they realize it’s the opportunity of a lifetime. If any one of them is like [cries a very Snooki-like “Waaa!”] — you know, giving me anything — I’m like, ‘Really? A year ago you were in your mother’s basement and I had to give you $4 for Gatorade and cigarettes.’ So we all laugh and move on.”

As for any spinoff shows, she says, “I don’t know if there is anything official.”

Her advice to the kids? “This is the advice I always give to them, and I take the same advice myself: ‘If everyone is out there drinking your Kool-Aid, that is awesome. The minute you have a sip, you are done. Just stay away from your own Kool-Aid.’ Some of them are more receptive to that than others. There are so many opportunities they’re getting from being on the show. The longer the show is on the air, the longer those opportunities will take place. So just keep the show on the air. I think sometimes that’s hard to know when you haven’t already seen it a million times in the industry.”

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino was in a great mood as he had some fun at Santa Monica Beach Pier on Thursday (September 23) whilst on a photoshoot for Men’s Fitness magazine.

The enterprising reality TV star showed off his washboard stomach to his fans and then performed a leap of joy while flexing his bicep for the magazine photographer.

The Jersey Shore star and current contestant on Dancing with the Stars later posed for a few female fans before heading back to his hotel.

Meanwhile, on last night’s installment of Lopez Tonight, Mike’s dance partner Karina Smirnoff admitted that even she had her doubts about being paired up with the Jersey Shore hunk. “I’ll be honest; when I heard Mike was my partner, I kind of freaked out,” she said.

But according to Karina, she soon had a change of heart about the man otherwise known as The Situation. The dancer told host George Lopez that Mike is “sweet, respectful … honestly amazing.”

Mike also took some time to suck up to his fans, who will have a chance to vote and save him from elimination.

He said: “I am blessed to have some awesome fans out there. … Other people have the wrong idea about me.” He also revealed his nickname for his legion of supporters. He calls them “The Situation Nation.”

Bristol Palin was the lady in red as she attended the Dancing With The Stars Season Premiere at CBS Studios in Los Angeles on Monday (September 20).

Joined by dance partner Mark Ballas as well as fellow “celebrity” contestants Audrina Patridge, David Hasselhoff, Jennifer Grey, Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino and Rick Fox, America’s favourite teenage mom was on hand to celebrate the kickoff of the latest season of the hit ABC reality show.

Meanwhile, despite much speculation, Sarah Palin was not in the ballroom to see daughter Bristol make her Dancing With The Stars debut.

“I thought you were going to be boring!” said judge Carrie Ann Inaba after Bristol danced a Cha Cha Cha to Mama Told Me Not To Come. “I was so wrong!”

Coming out on top was Dirty Dancing actress Jennifer, whose Viennese Waltz was “great,” said tough judge Len Goodman. “I think someone up there is going to be very, very proud of you,” said Bruno Tonioli, referring to the late and great Patrick Swayze. And a choked-up Inaba said, “Something very profound just happened. Some things get better with age and I definitely think you’re one of them.”

The scores:

Jennifer Grey 24
Brandy, Kyle Massey 23
Rick Fox 22
Audrina Patridge, Kurt Warner 19
Bristol Palin, Florence Henderson 18
Michael Bolton 16
Florence Henderson, David Hasselhoff, Margaret Cho 15

Who do you think will be the first to go home?

They may be famous for their wild partying ways, but the boys of Jersey Shore were up bright and early this morning (August 3) as they filmed on location in Seaside Heights, NJ.

Joined by cohorts Vinny Guadagnino and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, cast ringleader Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino could be seen spending the day in front of the camera as he interviewed local business owners.

Meanwhile, The Situation is reportedly in talks to appear in a future episode of Bones as a fitness instructor.

Bones creator Hart Hanson tells Entertainment Weekly: “We’re trying to get The Situation to play a murder victim. A guido is killed and Booth [David Boreanaz] and Brennan [Emily Deschanel] enter that world to find out what happens. We’re not sure if it’ll happen or not. Talks are ongoing.”

Speaking about the Jersey Shore-inspired episode, Boreanaz reveals that Brennan will understand the ‘guidos’ because “she considers [them] a tribe.”

“Brennan anthropologically studies them and knows the lingo and the behaviour,” Emily adds. “[She’s] down with the whole guido stuff.”

The episode will also include references to Jersey Shore. Jokes Emily: “I guarantee that there will be a fist pump.”

The Jersey Shore episode of Bones is due to air in October.
