Neil Patrick Harris was seen buying a new toolbox in Los Angeles on Sunday morning (Novmeber 29).

The former Doogie Howser M.D. actor proudly rocked a Motley Crue shirt rocker t-shirt as he tended to his end of weekend errands.

Meanwhile, Patrick recently talked about his experiences as a new parent on The Talk.

“Once we got home it was a bit of a shock,” he admitted. “Everybody said, ‘You’re going to look into their eyes and you’re never going to feel love burst forth like you feel… I’m like, not so much. I’m just a caregiver. They’re still so young. David and I thought it would be good to not swaddle them and to not pacify them and to have them figure stuff out on their own. And at this point we are like ‘Whatever it takes!’ A shot of whiskey, whatever you need just stop fussing. Gideon, our son, he’s a great burper. He sleeps all the time. Harper’s been a lot fussier. She’s had some sort of lower GI [gastrointestinal problem]. She’s always kind of working through something. It feels awful though, all you want as a parent is to make sure they’re OK and that they’re comfortable and they’re calm.”

He added: “We went to an osteopath. [Harper] sort of snapped and is kind of a different person. Everything’s much better. I’m a huge fan of that!”

How did Neil Patrick Harris prepare for Sunday night’s star-studded Emmy Awards? By taking a hike!

Joinedb by his boyfriend David Burtka, the How I Met Your Mother actor was spotted taking his two dogs for a walk near his Los Angeles home yesterday (August 29).

Neil was wearing a ‘Respect Your Mother Earth’ t-shirt — the same shirt David was spotted wearing last week.

Meanwhile, dad-to-be Neil is opening up about his pre-fatherhood preparations.

“I’m trying to read as much as I can, and prep as much as I can,” the 37-year-old actor told Ryan Seacrest before Sunday’s Emmy Awards. “But there’s only so much you can do because each baby is super individual and totally their own person.”

“I’m] very, very excited,” the two-time Emmy winner added. “It’s the big, crazy calm before the ridiculous storm.”
