NICK CANNON DINES; MARIAH CAREY DENIES

Posted in Nick Cannon on December 14, 2010 by fadedblog

Nick Cannon enjoyed a solo night out at Katsuya in Los Angeles on Monday night (December 13).

Though wife Mariah Carey was nowhere to be seen, the mom-to-be is opening up about longstanding rumours she is bisexual.

The Oh Santa songstress has long faced allegations she is secretly gay, despite being married twice.

Now, the 40-year-old superstar has addressed the unfounded gossip in a new interview for gay magazine The Advocate.

She says, “If it makes somebody happy to say that, then whatever, but that’s not the reality. I don’t have a discriminatory policy of who I’m friends with, so yes, I’m friends with women who are gay – gay, straight, it doesn’t matter to me. So I don’t get upset when I hear that, because it is what it is. I guess I could lie about it to seem more exciting.”

For her part, Mimi insists she is fully supportive of gay rights and backs the U.S. campaign for same-sex marriage to be made legal.

She adds, “If two people want to get married, it’s their prerogative – we hope. Everybody should be able to do what they want to do and be in the pursuit of happiness. Ever since I was a little girl, my mother was very open-minded and had many different types of friends, so being gay never seemed wrong or strange to me.”

Mariah Carey will pass on the dill pickles.

In a new interview with Rachel Ray set to air Friady, dad-to-be Nick Cannon says his wife’s pregnancy cravings are all about “healthy stuff.” He says: “She loves fruit!”

Really? Well, he admits, “One night, she sent me on a late night run for candied apples. So I don’t know if that’s still fruit.”

He tells Rachel, “Right now it’s all about effort. She just wants me to put out effort, because she’s putting in so much effort.” Nick adds: “I have to put out effort.”

But he’s not complaining. “It’s the most amazing journey that I’ve ever been on!”

Nick says they have had baby names picked out for a long time. “From the day we met, we picked out names.”

But he wouldn’t reveal their choices.

Mariah Carey‘s baby daddy Nick Cannon was overjoyed as he grabbed some celebratory balloons in New York City today (October 28).

After months of speculation by the media, the happy couple finally broke their silence for the first time regarding this pregnancy.

Only two years ago, they were close to breaking similar news when she had a tragic miscarriage.

“Yes, people have been asking me,” 40-year-old Mariah told Access Hollywood early this morning. “Yes, we are pregnant. This is true.”

She added: “It’s been a long journey. I’ve been trying to hold onto a shred of privacy and that hasn’t been easy.”

How far along is she? “It’s still early. Expecting in the spring, let’s say that.”

As for how Nick’s feeling? “The greatest gift on earth is a child,” he said. “Obviously, the process and how much we’ve been through…”

MC says she actually was pregnant two years ago right after she wed, but a month later she had a miscarriage. “It was really sad,” said Mariah. Added Nick: She had to “smile for the cameras” during the day she would “cry herself to sleep.”

She conceived naturally, to set the record straight.

Is she or isn’t she?

Mariah Carey left the pregnancy questions unanswered as she joined hubby Nick Cannon at a party for her new holiday album Merry Christmas II You at the Lincoln Center in New York today (October 20).

While 41-year-old MC is remaining mum, 30-year-old Nick is happy to answer questions.

When asked if the couple had thought about how many children they want, the America’s Got Talent host told Us Weekly: “Not really, I mean, it’s just whatever God blesses us with at that time, we’ll be happy with whatever it is.”

He added: “We just want a healthy child.”

And even though 30-year-old Nick is still relatively young, he said he is ready to take on fatherhood.

He added: “My parents were actually kids when had me, my parents were still in high school and teenagers – and we have a beautiful relationship, I’ll probably be that same way.”
