Rose McGowan visited the YoungHollywood Hollywood Studio in Los Angeles today (August 17).

Looking fresh in a tiered off-the-shoulder yellow frock, the 37-year-old actress was on hand to promote the new Conan the Barbarian flick.

Rose plays evil sorceress Marique in the film, but her exaggerated forehead – aka her “10-head,” as she called her character’s look, was simply down to movie magic.

“The studio asked if I would shave my eyebrows and my hairline back to here, and I said, ‘Sure, if you give me $5 million,” she jokingly tells Access Hollywood.

Instead, the look of Marique was crafted in a makeup room.

“I sat from around 2 in the morning until about 7 in the morning,” she explains.

Rose stars alongside Jason Momoa in the title role, and the big screen hunk impressed her on set.

“He’s a doll,” she says of the actor. “I call him like, the sweetest barbarian there ever was.

“He’s so amazing in this part,” she adds. “He’s what [original Conan creator] Robert E. Howard [imagined]…. Jason looks like he just stepped out of the pages of the comic book. Jason looks like he was born to battle with a big sword.”

Conan the Barbarian opens Friday.

Rose McGowan glittered like the star that she is as she attended the world premiere of Conan The Barbarian held at Regal Cinemas L.A. Live in Los Angeles on Thursday (August 11).

Joined by co-star Jason Momoa, the big screen beauty brought on the Hollywood glamour as she debuted her new highly-anticipated remake of the 80s classic.

Also in attendance? Jason’s partner Lisa Bonet and her daughter Zoe Kravitz.

Meanwhile, Rose claims she was raised by a group of drag queens.

The 37-year-old actress was born in Italy and was a member of the Church of God cult before returning to the US at 10 and running away from home three years later.

“At 13, when I was a runaway, I was taken in by the most amazing drag queens in Portland, Oregon,” Rose tells The Advocate. “We didn’t always know where our next meal was coming from, but there was so much camaraderie and love. Not to mention, those girls could paint a face, and I learned how because of them.”

Rose went on to say that her experience with the drag queens is largely responsible for her love and respect for the LGBT community to this day.

“I could finagle my way into lots of different places. Whether it was how I danced or the way I looked, I was always quite celebrated in the gay clubs,” she recalls. “To this day, I only go to gay clubs. I’m perfectly at home there. I also like watching hot boys and hot girls who can dance.”

Some of Hollywood’s best dresses fashionistas stepped out on Tuesday night (October 19) for the 2010 CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Finalists Celebration at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.

Headed by none other than Rose McGowan and Nicole Richie, the style savvy stars were on hand to celebrate the 10 finalists for the seventh-annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund initiative, which provides financial support and business mentorship for emerging designers.

The winner(s) will be announced in New York City on November 15 at a gala dinner underwritten by eBay.

Says Vogue Editor in Chief Anna Wintour: “Fashion is probably the only industry in the world where its fledgling talents are expected to be as creatively adept at running a business as they are at design. Many, clearly, are not, and it’s through the support of the Fund that these promising designers will be able to build a future for themselves — and for American fashion.”

Other celebrities in attendance included the likes of Mena Suvari, Molly Sims, Eva Mendes and stylist to the stars Rachel Zoe.
