SARAH JESSICA PARKER AND JAMES WILKIE GET INTO THE FESTIVE SPIRIT

Posted in Sarah Jessica Parker on November 30, 2010 by fadedblog

Sarah Jessica Parker cheered up son James Wilkie with a pre-school visit to a Christmas elf in New York City today (November 30).

Little James had seemed reluctant to go to school this morning and had been lagging behind his mom and appearing upset on their walk to school.

SJP had the perfect solution to cheer her son up, taking him past a Christmas tree seller’s shop where a kindly elf whispered some magic words to the little boy and returned him to festive cheer.

Meanwhile, Sarah Jessica has reportedly been spotted checking a massive $25 million townhouse in New York City recently. She already owns several properties in the city.

The Sex and the City actress is said to be looking for more space for herself, her husband Matthew Broderick and their three children. The $25 million property has nine bathrooms, 10 wood-burning fireplaces and is located on the same block in the West Village where rock great Jimi Hendrix once lived.

Michelle Obama was lauded with applause last night (October 18) as she she spoke at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in New York City. Jill Biden was on hand as part of the tag team, or as Mrs. O. put it, “my partner in crime.”

Sarah Jessica Parker hosted the night, which started with an event at the West Village home of designer Donna Karan for 85 donors who gave $10 000 each.

Later in the evening, Jill and the First Lady filled the St. James Theatre in Times Square with donors who gave $100 to $2500 each.

SARAH JESSICA PARKER: HONORARY CHAIRMAN FOR NEW YORK CITY BALLET

Sarah Jessica Parker was looking rather regal as she attended the New York City Ballet 2010 fall gala at the David H. Koch Theater in New York City today (October 7).

To celebrate its inaugural fall season at Lincoln Center, New York City Ballet presented a special one-time-only gala performance this evening to a star-studded crowd.

Newly elected to the New York City Ballet board of directors, SJP served as the event’s honorary chairman, with Maria-Cristina Anzola, Jane Carroll, Barbara Evans and Carol A. Smith as event chairmen.

Next up for Sarah Jessica? Production of The Ivy Chronicles. Based on a book by Karen Quinn, the upcoming flick is about a New York mom who starts a new life for herself and two girls after she loses her husband, her apartment and her job on Wall Street.

SARAH JESSICA PARKER SNUBS LILY ALLEN

Posted in Sarah Jessica Parker on September 28, 2010 by fadedblog

Sarah Jessica Parker was up bright and early this morning (September 28) as she took her twin daughters Tabitha and Marion to their regular monthly doctor’s check up in New York City.

Proving that it takes a village, the Sex and the City actress had some help from her nanny as she left the house.

Meanwhile, SJP has reportedly dismissed British songbird Lily Allen’s new boutique Lucy In Disguise as “very ordinary.”

The 44-year-old style queen apparently looked over the clothes in silence and then walked off as soon as she stepped out of the door.

An onlooker at the boutique in London’s Covent Garden tells the Daily Star: “Sarah went round the rails, signing autographs, but she didn’t say anything about the vintage clothes. The friend she was with asked her when they got outside what she thought and Sarah just replied bluntly: ‘Very ordinary.’”

Never one to stay quiet, Lily has hit back at SJP by banning any mention of her visit.

Sarah Jessica Parker was among the famous fashionistas paying respects to designer Alexander McQueen at a private memorial service at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London today (September 20).

Joined by Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Anna Wintour, the Sex and the City actress got all dressed up to mourn the British designer’s lifelong work and untimely passing.

Vogue editor-in-chief Wintour said in an address at the service that McQueen transported his fans “into a world of sensation where you could be shocked, repulsed or thrilled.”

McQueen was “special” because he designed the “most exquisite couture dresses and at the same time had a real impact on how the world dressed”, Wintour told hundreds of McQueen’ relatives, friends and colleagues.

Quirky Icelandic pop star Bjork, dressed as a cream-coloured bird with a feather skirt and wings, sang a version of Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday at the service.

As you may recall, 40-year-old McQueen’s body was found in a wardrobe in his central London flat in February, the day before his mother’s funeral. An inquest heard he took cocaine, sleeping pills and tranquillisers before hanging himself.

McQueen, who felt under pressure from work, had a history of self-harming and a depressive disorder and had taken two previous overdoses before his death.

The memorial service came in the middle of London Fashion Week, which runs until Wednesday.

SARAH JESSICA PARKER KEEPS JAMES WILKE’S LIFE AS NORMAL AS POSSIBLE

Posted in Sarah Jessica Parker on September 13, 2010 by fadedblog

Sarah Jessica Parker walked her son James Wilke Broderick to the first day of the first full school week of the year in New York City this morning (September 13).

It’s obvious that despite the constant media attention and extraordinary lifestyle that the Parker-Broderick clan live, SJP is striving to make James’s upbringing as ordinary as possible.

James, who turns ten in October is nearly as tall as his 45-year-old mother, and is looking very grown up. He became a big brother for the first time last year after a surrogate gave birth to twins whom Sarah Jessica and her husband Matthew Broderick named Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge.

Sarah Jessica has been taking some time off since finishing promotional duties for her last movie, Sex and The City 2.

But she is set to return to work soon as she is rumoured to be starring in the lead role in The Ivy Chronicles, based on a book by Karen Quinn, which tells the story of a woman who starts a new life for herself and her children after her husband dies.

She is also said to have been lined up for another romantic comedy called A Family Affair.

Nicole Richie headed a handful of Hollywood’s best dressed at Bergdorf Goodman’s celebration of Fashion’s Night Out in New York City on Friday night (September 10).

Joined by fellow style savvy stars Victoria Beckham and Sarah Jessica Parker, the celebutante designer was on hand to sing karaoke and raise fashion awareness.

After belting out a slew of Spice Girls songs, Nicole headed home and tweeted: “What a lovely night, thank you to everyone that came, and thank you NYC!”

Meanwhile, Nameberry.com editors Pamela Satran and Linda Rosenkrantz — who penned the books Baby Name Bible and Beyond Ava & Aiden — are dishing on why celebs choose the names they do, and what they mean.

Nicole’s son Sparrow, who recently celebrated his first birthday, shares big sister Harlow‘s ending in both spelling and sound. But what’s behind their bird-inspired names? It appears birds carry a great deal of spiritual symbolism, standing for flight, freedom, light and soaring upward.
