Selena Gomez was among the attendees at the premiere of The Thing in Universal City, CA on Monday night (October 10).

Peeling herself away from Justin Bieber for the evening, the 19-year-old starlet was all smiles as she hit up The AMC Universal City Walk to check out the new horror flick about the discovery of an alien craft.

As for the reason behind Justin’s absence? Rumours are swirling that Selena wants to dump the teen heartthrob if he doesn’t get his act together soon.

In fact, a source says that Selena is “growing increasingly frustrated” with Justin’s childish ways.

“Justin is still like a kid,” an undisclosed source is quoted as saying. “All he wants to do is watch movies and play video games.”

The shocking news comes days after the Biebs went public about how great Selena makes him feel and his respect for her “strong family values.”

“She makes me laugh and she puts up with my practical jokes,” said Justin. “We were both raised by our moms in single-parent households, and that’s given us a lot of the same family values in life.”

Nevertheless, the anonymous source claims that “that it’s not working.”

“Selena is very much a young woman,” the source said. “Most of the time they are apart because of work commitments. She wants to go out and have romantic dinners,” the source added. “But that’s not happening.”

Selena Gomez made an appearance on New.Music.Live in Toronto, Canada today (August 24).

After rocking out the Molson Amphitheatre last night, the 19-year-old starlet was up bright and early this morning as she dropped by the MuchMusic headquarters for an interview.

In this special presentation, Selena sat down with Lauren Toyota to talk about her We Own the Night tour, the next steps in her career, and more, in front of a live studio audience.

As for last night’s concert? The Toronto Star offers a review:

The sold-out mob taking in Disney-approved teen queen Selena Gomez’s gig at the Molson Amphitheatre on Tuesday night was a heartwarming study in family togetherness, very popular parents marshalling pods of overstimulated offspring atop colourful blankets or toting wee ’uns on shoulders at an impossible-to-navigate density all the way to the fences at the back of the lawns. By the looks of things, a good half of Gomez’s following hasn’t even crossed into the “tween” demographic yet. Thank the fates for all the glo-sticks flickering everywhere or it would have been like navigating a vast field of ping-ponging, pint-sized mines up there once the sun went down.

Gomez and the Scene — as her band is known — isn’t bad, as these things go, though. She’s not a singer of any great character, although she can hit her notes, nor did this stop on her We Own the Night tour betray much indication, beyond a Hendrixian “O, Canada” introduction by her guitarist, of straying from the brisk script it must surely observe on every other night. But the tunes, while utterly effervescent, are generally non-hateful party jams your average, discerning, hot-to-trot soccer mom wouldn’t feel terribly guilty singing along to on the way to school.

They steal from the right sources, in any case, in their adherence to the disposable pop music’s “the familiar is never threatening” credo. True, “We Own the Night” could be a lost Starship horror from the ’80s, but “Love You Like a Love Song” flows like prime ABBA, “Bang Bang Bang” drips sauce like the Scissor Sisters, “Spotlight” apes “Hey Baby”-era No Doubt and there was a lot of Goldfrapp going on in one oozy dance cut I can’t identify because . . . well, I’m not a 10-year-old girl. And because I’m not a 10-year-old girl, I’ll stop with my high-minded “music criticism” right there. I’m pretty sure all the 10-year-old girls at the Amphitheatre on Tuesday were going bananas for all this stuff, all night long. They could do worse.

Selena Gomez made an in-store appearance at Kmart’s Philadelphia Market Street Store in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania today (August 19).

Before spending the afternoon meeting her many young fans, the singer/actress/fashion designer tweeted: “Heading to the KMart on market street in Philly hope to see you all there.”

Meanwhile, although Selena and beau Justin Bieber are a young happy couple, the 19-year-old starlet recently revealed that she won’t change who she is for a guy.

In a recent interview with Top of the Pops, Selena revealed that she was once influenced by a young guy she dated but didn’t realize that she compromised her identity until the relationship was over.

“I wasn’t myself for a year,” she said. “I think that was really damaging. I felt like it was me who was always trying to be perfect for him. Everyone around me hated him but I didn’t listen. I think I had to go through it because now I’m the strongest I’ve been.”

Today, with Justin, things are different for Selena, who still stays true to herself. “There was a point where I lost myself completely” Gomez added. “I didn’t smile as much, I didn’t laugh as much. I wasn’t a goofball. I didn’t get up and dance like I usually do.”

Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez had a night out together as they were seen going to Jamie’s, Jamie Oliver’s new restaurant, in London’s Covent Garden this evening (October 21).

After the meal, the celebrity BFFs headed over to Ciao Italian Gelateria in Leicester Square. Taylor got stracciatella gelato while Selena opted for toffee white chocolate flavored gelato.

The pair could be seen giggling to each other as they ate their cool treats on a rather cold night in London.

Selena is in London to promote her latest album A Year Without Rain. Similarly, Taylor did her bit in Europe. She made appearance on Le Grand Journal in France before her UK stop.

Selena recently talked about the pact that Taylor and her made in order to stay grounded or as in “normal.”

“We both have that same mentality,” she said. “We do get stopped but it’s just part of the job. We make a point of going out and doing normal things; it’s not going to stop us from being teens.. Taylor has helped me through some really hard times, we talk every single day. It’s kind of amazing that someone like her, who has sold millions of records, is still humble.”

Selena Gomez was in a cheerful mood today (August 9) as she strolled around the back lot of a local Los Angeles studio with a group of people.

The Disney darling was showing a mature style in a pair of jeans, grey knee high boots, and a long stripped shirt with a shawl like sweater.

Selena looked extremely happy to see her Wizards of Waverly Place co-star Jake T. Austin, giving him a nice long lingering hug.

It has been rumored in the media and blogs that Miss Gomez has a “thing” for Mr. Austin and from the looks of her action today, the rumours might be true!
