A man believed to be Tom Cruise could be seen performing a hair-raising stunt at the very top of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai today (November 18).

The star is filming at the Burj Khalifa, which stands 2717 feet tall, for his new movie Mission Impossible 4.

A helicopter just ten feet away from the building was being used by the film crew to get close to the action.

Meanwhile, Tom and wife Katie Holmes are reportedly no longer live in the same house — according to a new report.

According to Britain’s Grazia magazine, Katie is taking steps to distance herself away from the controlling environment of the $35 million mansion she shares with Tom.

Sources say Katie spends most of her time at a comparatively tiny four-bedroom house she and Tom own in Hollywood Hills cul-de-sac.

“Katie just wanted a small retreat where she can just go alone, or with Suri, to have a more normal and private life,” a source said. “She craves privacy and freedom. Katie can totally relax there and walks around in her pajamas, can talk freely to her family on the phone and sits outside in the backyard by the pool. It’s very cozy and relaxed. She has even appointed and vetted her own staff, none of which are affiliated to Scientology. Whatever people might think, Katie is doing things of her own accord. She’s sick of people saying she’s controlled.”

Tom Cruise was spotted performing a hair-raising stunt dangle on Saturday (October 30) in Duabi.

The Hollywood star is filming at the Burj Khalifa, which stands 2717 feet tall, for his new movie Mission Impossible 4.

The stunt is thought to involve Tom jumping over another actor during a chase around the exterior of the huge building.

The scene was being filmed at the Observation Deck level which is 124 floors high.

A helicopter just ten feet away from the building was being used by the film crew to get close to the action.

Meanwhile, Tom may appear in the upcoming film adaptation of Broadway musical Rock Of Ages.

New Line has reportedly offered Tom a supporting role in the film as a bartender, a part which would involve some singing.

The comedy musical pays tribute to the classic rock songs of the ’80s, including the likes of Bon Jovi, Twisted Sister and Journey.

No official announcement regarding casting for the film has been announced, although it is rumored to be helmed by Hairspray director Adam Shankman.

Rock Of Ages is expected to be released sometime in 2011.

It was business as usual for a shirtless Tom Cruise as he filmed a scene for the upcoming Mission: Impossible 4 flick on the ledge of a building in Prague, Czech Republic today (October 11).

The 48-year-old actor appeared very focused and serious during each take, but managed to smile and wave to fans and photogs in between takes.

Meanwhile, Tom and Jack Nicholson could be reuniting in new film El Presidente.

It’s been reported that the A-listers, who squared off in 1992’s A Few Good Men, will both be appearing in the action comedy, with Tom already attached and Jack in the process of considering an offer.

Knight And Day star Tom would play an “overly committed Secret Service agent assigned to guard the country’s worst former president” (Jack). The agent is forced to go on the run with the ex-leader when a serious threat is made on the former president’s life.

The duo are most memorable for their scenes in Rob Reiner’s courtroom drama A Few Good Men, where Tom, as defence lawyer Daniel Kaffee, questioned Jack’s corrupt Colonel Nathan Jessep, who volleyed back with the classic line “You can’t handle the truth”.

“I think you should try to make yourself better each day- you never get that day back,” she adds.
