Jennifer Garner and her adorable daughter Violet Affleck chased away the rain with ice cream from Sweet Rose Creamery in Santa Monica, CA today (October 20).

Come hell or high water, ain’t nothing going to keep these lovely ladies apart from their ice cream!

Meanwhile, in a new interview with Extra, Jen opens up about all that Oscar buzz that hubby Ben Affleck has been getting for starring in and directing The Town.

“I’m soooo proud of Ben, I can’t tell you,” she says. “I saw it, I lived it first hand. No one has worked harder.”

The busy working mom is also keeping busy, co-starring alongside Russell Brand in the upcoming remake of Arthur.

“No one but Russell Brand could have remade this movie,” says Jennifer. “He’s the reason we all did it. I absolutely fell for him while I was working with him.”

Jennifer Garner was spotted holding her daughter Violet‘s hand as she took her to a ballet class in Los Angeles today (October 12).

Dressed in a pink leotard and tutu, the always adorable Violet looked as if she could not wait for her class as she danced along her mother’s side.

Meanwhile, Jennifer loved sculpting for a new movie role, but found few people thought she was very good at it.

The 38-year-old actress enjoyed sculpting pieces out of the churned dairy product for her new movie Butter – but found she wasn’t very good at it, with many of her cast doubting her abilities.

“Turns out, butter carving is so satisfying and is the most, most fun!” she says. “I was carving a sculpture in a relief of a man walking on a rainy day, and I thought, ‘This is a man, walking on a rainy day!’ and the rest of the cast was like, ‘Uh, yeah that’s a blob of butter.'”

Butter – which also stars Alicia Silverstone, Ashley Greene, Ty Burrell and Hugh Jackman – tells the tale of a butter carving championship in the mid-west, and she admits she had a great time filming the political satire, directed by Jim Field Smith.

Says Jennifer: “I play the wife of Ty Burrell, who has been the Iowa state champion in butter-carving at the state festival for the past 15 years, and we had a blast together. It’s an incredible cast and my production company was a part of producing it, which was a thrill for me. And I think that it is a story that is going to be a lot of fun to have out in the world. I don’t play the nicest person but it sure was delicious trying her on.”

A bare-faced Jennifer Garner was spotted taking daughters Violet and Seraphina Affleck to Violet’s weekly soccer game at a local park in Brentwood, CA today (October 2).

The 38-year-old actress looked to be having a blast with her girls as her mother-in-law Chris Affleck watched her goofy family at the park.

Four year-old Violet and her 20-month-old sister Seraphina looked adorable in matching red, brown and white.

Jennifer was clearly enjoying herself as she played with Seraphina – at one point turning her upside down in the air as Violet perfected her ball skills on the field.

Meanwhile, Jennifer is being lined up to star alongside Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner in Better Living Through Chemistry, a thriller about a small-town pharmacist who is trapped in a loveless marriage.

It was another adorable mother-daughter moment as Jennifer Garner and Violet Affleck stepped out in Santa Monica, CA today (September 28).

After picking her up from school, the doting mom treated her 4-year-old little girl to some frozen yogurt amid the second day of a heat wave that has taken over southern California.

Meanwhile, it appears Jennifer opted to skip doing interviews with all the media outlets at the Pink Party over the weekend — even though she was the host of the event. This, of course, will do nothing to quell rumours she’s expecting a third child with hubby Ben Affleck.

A source tells E!: “She was seated at a cabana where you couldn’t really see inside. But when she was on stage and walking around, she wasn’t drinking anything.”

Out for some quality time, Jennifer Garner and daughter Violet Affleck visited a bookstore in upscale Brentwood, CA on Friday (September 24).

After spending some time paging through some books, the mother-daughter duo later headed over to a gal pal’s place for an afternoon play date.

Meanwhile, it appears Jennifer has formed a friendship with her Arthur co-star Russell Brand based on their love of cosmetic products.

“Russell offered Jennifer his favorite nail polish shade, OPI’s Lincoln Park After Dark and kindly bought her a bottle,” says a source.

Apparently they are now chummy enough for Jennifer to suggest that the comedian cut his hair before marrying singer Katy Perry.

Out for some quality time, Jennifer Garner and daughter Violet Affleck visited a hotel this afternoon (September 10) in Santa Monica, CA.

After departing their car following a drive from Brentwood, CA, 4-year-old Violet could be seen picking out a wedgie before heading inside for a lunch date with mom and her girlfriends.

Later this month, Jennifer will be one of seven women in Hollywood feted by Variety for their charitable causes.

After that, the 38-year-old actress will begin promoting her upcoming flick Butter, a comedy set in the Midwest U.S., where an adopted girl discovers her talent for butter carving and finds herself pitted against an ambitious local woman in their town’s annual contest.

Super happy mom Jennifer Garner and possibly even happier Violet Aflleck were spotted making their way to Violet’s ballet class in Santa Monica, CA yesterday (September 7).

Greeted by some of her fellow pint-sized ballerinas, the 4-year-old little blonde showed off her dimples, smile and tutu while hanging close to mom.

Next up for busy mom Jen? She will be one of seven women in Hollywood feted at Variety’s annual Power of Women luncheon in Beverly Hills for her work with the Save the Children foundation.

Michelle Sobrino, Variety‘s associate publisher says: “By honouring this incredible group of high-profile women who are leading the charge, we hope to inspire and empower everyone within our industry – and throughout the world – to get involved and give back.”

The seven honourees have been chosen for their charitable efforts in a variety of causes. The recipients include actresses Natalie Portman for her charity FINCA, Amy Adams (Ghetto Film School), Katie Holmes (Dizzy Feet Foundation), Diane Lane (Heifer Intl.), Eva Mendes (Art of Elysium) and Management 360 founding partner Suzan Bymel (Global Creative Forum).

Variety – who presents the awards in partnership with Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network, – said they honour the women in hopes of inspiring others within the entertainment industry to get involved and give back.
